Wailea Courses. You can choose among three courses at Wailea. The Blue Course, a par-72, 6,758-yard course designed by Arthur Jack Snyder and dotted with bunkers and water hazards, is for duffers and pros alike. A little more difficult is the par-72, 7,078-yard championship Gold Course, with narrow fairways, several tricky dogleg holes, and natural hazards like lava-rock walls. The Emerald Course, which like the Gold Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., is Wailea’s newest, with tropical landscaping and a player-friendly design. With 54 holes to play, getting a tee time is slightly easier on weekends than at other resorts, but weekdays are still the best (the Emerald Course is usually the toughest to book). Facilities include two pro shops, restaurants, locker rooms, and a complete golf training facility.
